Advantages and disadvantages of having a sofa in the living room

In the living rooms we often find comfortable sofas. They come with many different sizes, shapes and styles, and they can be adjusted to your favorite colors or the décor color or your house. With the others, a sofa allows for close interaction and that it can be cozy too. But not all sofas loved by everyone. Basically, when you think about it, there are some disadvantages too.

First, remember that each wall of the contemporary and modern living room is occupied by  TV, wall unit or a window, all made based on an open plan. Anyone who will sit on it will always be in opposite direction with the others or on something insignificant so anyone wouldn’t be able to place the sofas there.

Secondly, for privacy sofas only provide little room, but they do encourage interaction and socialization. This means that you don’t have the space of your own when the space is shared with some other people. If I can choose, I would choose a more individual seating unit or an armchair.

You’ll be pleased knowing that other options are still available in case you don’t like having a sofa in your living room. For instance, you can choose a pair of individual armchairs or a daybed with small sizes to replace the sofas. You will get a chic and cozy décor and in the middle put a coffee table. Next option is arrangement with classic style by placing four armchairs surrounding a coffee table. You can use some foldable chairs, poufs, ottomans, and some stools to overcome space problem when you see that there is not enough space for everyone to sit down. They can be stored somewhere safely on the house or just brought in or perhaps scattered at the house
