Modern Family Residence in Power Street Hawthorn,Victoria

This contemporary residence was expanded and renovated at the same time thus the look is amazing, located in Hawthorn, Victoria, Australia. This residence was designed by Steve Domoney and added with a new pavilion. The project turned very satisfactory and completed in 2011. Previously, the residence had some additions in the rear and been renovated. In that moments, it had some new additions of spaces for the kitchen areas, the dining room, and living room.

The owners had to make a few changes because the internal structure at a whole was not the best choice. They wanted the residence to continuously have a structure with coherent flow of style thus they change and reorganize the interior. They also wanted to have a structure like pavilion in the building.  The idea was to connect the garden without reaching the rest of the house. They wanted to accentuate the house and the pavilion to show their period in the history and their age.

While integrating the garden, a new raised swimming pool and the pavilion into the design, the architects also attempted to modernize the current structure. The pavilion was built with bluestone and glass and featured with open design. it has flooring from timber and tile terracing from bluestone and located between the outdoor and limit of the indoor. A connection to the garden is created and its also private and open. Via a glazed door with automatic function, the pool is directly connected to the master suite so a resort like feel is created.
